The Gentner-Kastler 2024 Prize awarded to LISA researcher Isabelle Kleiner
Isabelle Kleiner, a researcher at LISA, has just been awarded the 2024 Gentner-Kastler Prize jointly by the Société Française de Physique (SFP) and the DPG (German Physical Society) for the excellence of her work and her contributions to research in theoretical physics.
The award recognizes her work in the field of high-resolution spectroscopy of isolated molecules. Isabelle Kleiner has made a major contribution to understanding the structure and internal motions of molecular systems. She has worked to establish innovative quantum chemical theoretical models for the calculation of molecular spectra. These models have enabled her to develop software used to model molecular spectra in infrared and rotational spectroscopy. This research has numerous applications in fields such as astrophysics, the study of planetary atmospheres and biology.
