Since 2015, the "Sahelian Dust Transect" is part of the National Observation Service INDAAF (International Network to Study Deposition and Atmopsheric chemistry and AFrica) supported by the French INSU-CNRS and the IRD .

The description of the network, the data policy and the database are now available at : https://indaaf.obs-mip.fr

The Sahelian Dust Transect, is a network dedicated to the monitoring of the mineral dust in the Sahel. It was deployed in 2006 in the frame of the AMMA (African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analysis) International Program. It is composed of 4 ground-based stations located on an East-West trajectory on the path of the Saharan and Sahel dust plumes during their transport toward the Atlantic Ocean : Banizoumbou (Niger), Cinzana (Mali), M'Bour and Bambey (Senegal). A similar station was recently deployed in the south of Tunisia (Médenine, Tunisia)
